My middle son is starting his confirmation classes this next semester. I dont know what to expect. Here in Puerto Rico is a little different. When I took the classes, I wasn't given any material, just talks unfortunately. Please pray for hi.. He is very i tune with our faith. Please pray he can be a sever one day is it is Gods will.
Thanks for sharing your review. It sounds like a wonderful program all around. Everyone is busy cutting & smoking salmon making dryfish. As you're walking through the village, you can just smell the smoke coming from the smokehouses. Since my 2 brothers quit talking to me after my mom passed, I've been hoping someone will share some salmon with me. Oh I just miss cutting fish! But I'm so happy that most people got to make dryfish. I'm so very grateful you're here !
This is so helpful. It's my second year as a CRE director and my first selecting curriculum. It is pretty intense and not being able to put hands to many options has been challenging. I basically went down the USCCB list and tried to narrow it down. I have two boys in our program going into high school next year so I'm keeping things in mind for them. I wasn't able to find anyone doing flip throughs for Catholic curriculum so thank you!! As a very small rural parish, we don't have access to samples unless they're free online. I hope you do more as you can
I'm so glad the video was helpful for you; choosing which program to use is a hard job! I do have a few more videos about teaching religious ed and confirmation. Here are a few that might be helpful. Thank you Jennifer! It looks wonderful! Can you complete this in one year....8th grade? What do you do for 7th graders? Thank you and God bless you! Ron
At our church we use Finding God from Loyola for 7th (Discipleship) and 8th (Church History) and then we do a separate Confirmation program in 9th grade right before Confirmation (we are using Confirmed for Mission this year for that). Confirmed for Mission could easily be done over a year. There are 12 chapters, and each chapter is meant to be 3 separate lessons. We did a chapter a day in our summer boot camp because we had all morning, but you could easily adapt the time frame with 8th graders to what works best for your church. Hope that helps!
Hello- we have tried them all, lol. Decision Point from Dynamic Catholic and Chosen from Ascension are both very good, but they are video based. In this video I mentioned that we are finding that the students just *do not* want to sit and watch videos in class anymore: studio.ruclips.net/user/videoOUtAGOII37g/edit Last summer we had students in open rebellion against all the videos in Chosen (and we were using the new version). We have also used Purpose from Life Teen- also very good, and the students liked it, but it was extra labor intensive for the teachers and had other cons for us. I reviewed it here: ruclips.net/video/KT6g5Xvcfgk/видео.html Hope that helps!

What were some of the programs that didn’t work?😅
Did you share a video on those?
